On June 11th, nearly twenty local children attended KFK's 1st Kicking Camp, held at Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell, KY. Each participant had the unique opportunity to learn from two kicking legends, KFK Founder, Doug Pelfrey, and the Bengals' all-time leading scorer, Jim Breech. The former Bengals' players provided one-on-one instruction to each camper about the fundamentals of kicking.

Many of the participants, who ranged in ages from 10-to-15-years old, had very little experience with kicking prior to camp. The camp gave them the chance to learn a number of new skill sets. Upon arriving to the field that morning, each camper was thrilled to receive a brand new NFL football to take home with him at the end of the day. Doug and Jim officially "kicked-off" the morning by going through several basic techniques, such as the approach, the ball-foot contact, as well as the follow through. Each camper then had time to tackle each technique.

Of course it wouldn't be a kicking camp without a little friendly competition between Doug and Jim! Doug rallied his group together, coining it the "Dream Team", comprised of the younger campers, while Jim gathered his group of older campers, "The Bull Dogs". The campers implemented their newly acquired kicking techniques, as the teams battled it to the end, where the "Dream Team" clinched the win!

The participants also had the chance to sit down with the former NFL players and ask any questions they had. Doug and Jim encouraged them to find their passion, and to not let money be the driving force of their lives. Beechwood's Head Football Coach, Noll Rash, also spoke to the participants, encouraging them to work hard in everything they do, and to capitalize on every opportunity.
