E-GO first approached KFK because of its outstanding reputation within the local area. "We looked at organizations that were known and respected, and who were working for a community-related cause," said Jim Simmons, the President of e-GO Electronics. E-GO serves as a collection agent for various electronic items. These products can be refurbished and recycled, or if the product is too dated, it will be broken down for raw material and managed domestically to possibly be used elsewhere.
The company asserts the electronic products are being disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. "It's always good to understand who you are working with and do as much homework as possible," Jim said, "I think it's important you work with a company and organization that you trust, which benefits us to work with KFK because it has a great name in the community."
The company will have a booth at the RGI River Run on Saturday, May 23rd at the Purple People Bridge in Newport, Kentucky to promote the partnership and to answer any consumers' questions. If you are interested in donating your electronics to help generate funds for Kicks For Kids, just follow the simple steps below. Companies can also get involved by placing collection bins within their businesses. Please contact Ted for more information (859-331-8484).
