'Free to Be Me' Art Camp
Kicks For Kids hosted its 1st Art Camp in August, entitled 'Free to Be Me! Self-expression through Art'. Located at the Carnegie Arts Center in Covington, the camp provided nearly 30 children with the opportunity to learn about a variety of art outlets. KFK thanks the Greater Cincinnati Foundation for awarding a $1,000 grant in support of the art camp.

KFK's 4th Annual Basketball Camp
Kicks For Kids hosted its annual Basketball Camp at a new location this year! More than 50 children from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati attended the three day clinic from July 28-30. The first two days of camp were held at Scott High School in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, while the final day was held at The Bank of Kentucky Center (at NKU) in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The children had the opportunity to put the game's fundamentals to work, as well as hear inspiring words from some famous athletes.

KFK's 5th Annual Training Camp Trip
Kicks For Kids Training Camp Trip provided the experience of a lifetime for nearly 40 local children on Monday, August 3rd. For the first time since the trip's inception, the kids were invited onto the field following practice, and were able to speak directly to the players while getting autographs! In addition, the group traveled in a luxury bus to Georgetown, KY, and had a delicious meal close to the sidelines.

A Bike For Kyle
Like many 10-year-old boys his age, Kyle has a love for sports, works hard in school and enjoys being with his friends and family. Kyle, however, has faced a number of obstacles in his short life. He was born with Quadriplegic Spastic Cerebral Palsy, which severely limits his physical activity. More than a year ago, he was introduced to an adaptive bike at the Leap Beyond Therapy center, and it helped tremendously with his mobility and independence. This past August, Kicks For Kids was excited to contribute to the donation of Kyle's very own adaptive bike!

National Company Makes Local Impact
In late August, the United States Playing Card Company proudly presented eight children at risk with their very own bike! The company, whose headquarters is in Erlanger, KY, first contacted KFK's founder, Doug Pelfrey about donating new bicycles to kids in the community. They trusted KFK could identify a group of children that would truly benefit from the bikes. On Friday, August 21st, students from Florence Elementary happily accepted their gift, and the company also donated $1,000 to KFK!
