On Monday, December 15th, fifty children from across the Tri-state took part in the 14th Annual Christmas Celebration, held once again at Paul Brown Stadium. For the first time since the event's inception, the children and chaperones had the chance to meet at a community service project before the event. On the evening of the celebration, not only were the kids buzzing about being 'in the Jungle', they couldn’t wait to reunite with their chaperones!

The chaperones and children invited to attend the 14th Annual Christmas Celebration were asked to complete a community service project prior to the event. KFK partnered with ten local children's agencies to coordinate nearly a dozen projects that took place in November and December. The projects gave the chaperones and children a chance to get to know each other, as well as gave each child the opportunity to give back to his/her local community.

For the second year in a row, KFK's Operation North Pole took flight! Thanks to Comair, one of KFK's primary sponsors, more than 60 children had the opportunity to journey on an airplane to the 'North Pole'! For many of the kids who attended, it was their first time stepping foot on an airplane...or even being at an airport. They were both excited and nervous upon arriving and checking in at Comair’s headquarters near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Magical stories surrounding the holiday season were brought to life for more than 100 children throughout the Tri-state in December. Kicks For Kids gave several groups the opportunity to see
The Nutcracker at the Aronoff Center and
A Christmas Carol at Playhouse in the Park. For many of them, it was their first time going to a theatre and seeing a live performance.

Since 1995 KFK has invested nearly $1.6 million into improving the outlook of the children it serves -- and positively impacted over 40,000 young lives in the process! Just in 2008, through KFK's Career Days, Great Outdoor Adventure, Christmas Celebration, Operation North Pole, Field of Dreams, Basketball Camp & Bengals' Training Camp Trip, and by introducing children to health/nutrition and art programs, we touched the lives of many local kids.
The revenue needed to provide these opportunities, thus "leveling the playing field" for area youth, is primarily generated through two first-class events...the RGI River Run and Celebrity Golf Classic. The RGI River Run is one of the top 10 run/walk events in Greater Cincinnati, and over 1,200 participants are expected on Saturday, May 23rd at the Purple People Bridge in Newport. The Celebrity Golf Classic is one of the area's top charity golf outings (avg. net proceeds: $150,000) and will take place at beautiful Triple Crown Country Club on Monday, June 22nd and Tuesday, June 23rd.
Sponsor packages are now available for both events, and start at just $500. Please contact the KFK office (859-331-8484;
ted.kluemper@kicksforkids.org) to become a sponsor.
